Arnica Mission Statement
Child on HolidaySet up by parents in 2006, Arnica is a non profit parental support group for those interested in building their family’s health and immunity naturally.

Arnica is Pro informed choice, Pro-debate, Pro awareness of risks and respectful of the difficulty some parents find in making decisions whether or not to vaccinate or medicate their child. We are Pro transparency and call for full drug tests and trial results published not just self interested selection. We call for the financial interests of all policy makers to be considered and we campaign for more transparency in a for-profit industry.

Entirely run by volunteer parents Arnica has over 35,000 members and 100 local groups throughout the UK, demonstrating the growing need for support and open discussion around medication and health. Our open minded ethos allows us to consider anecdotal evidence alongside the research, which supports people to make their own fully informed personal decisions. Respect is shown to all, regardless of their choices.

Many members come to Arnica after their children and/or family members have become chronically ill and conventional medicine has failed them. Or they have suffered an unwanted side effect from a medical product or procedure. Based on this we call for a system that recognises that ALL medicine has benefits and risks and health policies that continue to reflect that where there is risk there must be full disclosure and choice.

Our members are interested in a healthy lifestyle of exercise, nutrition, emotional support, natural remedies and therapies and reducing toxins in our homes and food. We have found that GPs, Health Visitors and The Department of Health are not confident or respectful about natural health approaches, preferring a route of medicine and intervention. This can lead to a divide and friction between clinician and patient that is not helpful to anyone. We would like to see more respectful dialogue between patients and health care providers and more research into the health of people who rarely need a prescription for example. This is especially topical as the NHS is drastically overspending.
